Bryan Kesselman

 

Bryan studied singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is a composer, musical director and opera singer.


Roles include Dr Bartolo (Barber of Seville); Papageno (The Magic Flute) Monsieur André (The Phantom of the Opera); Captain Macheath (The Beggars Opera); Figaro (Marriage of Figaro); Dr Malatesta (Don Pasquale); Cox (Cox and Box); Ko-Ko (The Mikado) and Jack Point (The Yeomen of the Guard). He has also played roles in broadcasts of Kismet and The Music Man on BBC Radio 2.


He has appeared as soloist in recitals and concerts all over the UK, including performances of Bloch’s ‘Sacred Service’ at St Paul’s Cathedral (conducted by Yehudi Menuhin) and at the Dartington International Festival, has given recitals in Germany, Guernsey, Jersey, London, and the Wexford International Opera Festival.


Also a composer, performed works include: 'Dreyfus: Prisoner of Devil's Island' - a Musical Drama premiered in 1998 and 'Maccabee' - a cantata for choir and chamber ensemble first performed in 2003 for which he received a Millennium Award.
