Health and Safety Inspectors add an extra dimension to Italian fund raiser
Arriving as a couple of Health and Safety Inspectors from EECO, the European Event Conformance Office, Entertaining People raised more than a few eyebrows among the 170 guests. The Italian themed evening had been arranged to raise money for a local hospice. At a pre-arranged moment, the performers revealed their true identity and entertained the audience with a cabaret of Italian songs.
Event organiser, Val de Rozarieux said, “Entertaining People were very convincing as inspectors. They authentically interrogated the chef, bar staff and site manager. Many of the guests were aware that something was not quite right and some of the audience became really incensed that such officials should turn up at a fund raiser. There was considerable cheering, laughter and applause when the ‘inspectors’ took off their coats and became cabaret singers. It was a fantastic transition. Philip and Bryan gave a first class performance; the whole place was rocking. Many thought the guys were actually Italian. I would certainly recommend Entertaining People to anyone running an event.”
Background information
Disguised as Health and Safety Inspectors, Entertaining People provide a short piece of Hidden Theatre as they make their presence felt during the early stages of a function. The audience becomes aware of ‘something happening’ but is not directly involved. At a prearranged moment, the performers change into cabaret singers with a programme of songs to suit the occasion.
